San Juan Bautista School of Medicine is committed to the systematic evaluation and continuous improvement of its academic programs.

Each academic program is responsible for implementing learning assessment and quality improvement processes appropriate to its curriculum, student outcomes, professional accreditation requirements, and organizational structure. These activities may be supported by designated faculty, administrative personnel, program committees, assessment committees, or continuous quality improvement committees.

Assessment and quality improvement processes are used to:

  • Evaluate student learning and achievement of program outcomes.
  • Review academic program effectiveness.
  • Identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Support curriculum and program development.
  • Inform decision-making.
  • Document actions and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Support institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements.

Program-specific assessment and quality improvement structures may differ according to the needs and accreditation requirements of each academic program.
